Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari is currently on a 4-day visit in the United States of America. She will be holding round table meetings and panel discussions aimed at forming sustainable collaborations with various stakeholders, policy makers and institutions.

She arrived U.S on Wednesday, and on Thursday she was at the United States Institute of Peace for a meeting. She also gave a speech at the George Mason University the same day.

At the George Mason university in Virginia, Aisha Buhari was hosted as guest of Honour at an event with the agenda to fashion out sustainable ways on humanitarian missions and possible collaborations with her “Future assured programme”. The “Get Involved” Nutrition Initiative of the first lady was also discussed.

The major areas to be considered in her meetings are Health and Education particularly as it relates to rebuilding damage done by insurgency crisis. Amongst the first lady’s team are wives of governors of Nasarawa, Zamfara, Borno, Sokoto, and Kebbi states. Others include SSA to President Buhari on SDG Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and SSA to the President on Diaspora, Hon. Abike DabiriSenator Binta Masi, andDame Pauline Tallen.
