Wimbledon 2016: Nick Kyrgios Admits Losing Belief After Murray Bashing
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has revealed he lost his confidence during a bashing at the hands of Andy Murray at Wimbledon.
It took Murray only one hour and 43 minutes to wrap the tie up, and speaking to reporters after the game, Kyrgios admitted his performance was poor.
“It was a good first set. The rest of the match was pretty pathetic. As soon as I lost the first set, I just lost belief. I think when things get tough, I’m just a little bit soft. Was it like a switch-flicking? Kind of, I guess, yeah.”
He added: “I don’t love the sport. But I don’t really know what else to do without it. One week I’m pretty motivated to train and play. I’m really looking forward to getting out there. One week I’ll just not do anything.”
