Crisis over choice of APC running mate

FRESH crisis is brewing in the APC over the choice of the senatorial zone to produce the running mate to the governorship candidate, Mr, Godwin Obaseki.

A competent source close to the party disclosed to Vanguard that the move to present the member representing Estako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Mr. Philip Shaibu is already causing bad blood between the party faithful in Edo North and Edo South Senatorial zones,

It was further gathered that those who supported him for the nomination of his anointed governorship candidate are unhappy and are now hoping for the cancellation of the primaries by the Opeyemi Bamidele led appeal panel.

APCC leaders from Edo Central who had been hoping to present the running mate to Obaseki are said to be peeved over the plan to present Shuaibu and are threatening to vote against the ticket if Edo North presents the running mate.

However, Edo State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Erhahon when asked for his reaction to the development said, “Whoever is chosen as the running mate to Obaseki, as a loyal party man, I will help the party to market him.”
